Spoonbread.

My spoonbread to go with hisself's chili.

1.5 cups AP flour
1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup corn meal
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
2 tbsp veg oil
4 tbsp melted butter
1 cup sour cream
1 can cream corn

350 degrees for 40 minutes in a wider than deep pan, greased.


Yes, It's a wet looking batter. It's a spoonbread, not corn bread.
It will be delicate and lovely and soft and moist.
And it goes great with anything -- but especially BBQ and chili.
